CHBS Seniors share mental health tips with middle schoolers

European study abroad enriches perspectives on health care systems

Health Sciences professor leads Psychology student in First Year Research Experience
Health Sciences professor Asmita Mhaskar led a freshman Psychology major in a unique, cross-disciplinary research as part of the FYRE (First Year Research Experience) program. Read More
Recognitions and Awards
- JMU Nursing has been recognized as the second-best nursing school in Virginia for its bachelor's in nursing program by RNCareers.org. Melody Eaton, director of the School of Nursing, said this accomplishment "highlights the dedication and hard work of our students, who are the future leaders of health care in Virginia.
- The Social Work BSW program's accreditation was reaffirmed by the Council on Social Work Education through 2031. The program is one of 541 undergraduate social work programs in the country with this accreditation. CSWE requires each program undergo review every eight years and since receiving initial accreditation in 1979, JMU has continuously maintained its fully accredited status.
- College Student Personnel Administration, a program in the Graduate Psychology department, received the Provost Award for Learning Improvement, which recognizes academic program's efforts to integrate assessments in learning improvement efforts. After a thorough assessment of the program, changes in leadership and curriculum led to improved engagement and outcomes for students.
