SUMMARY: Dr. Grace Wyngaard, a professor in the Biology department, has been awarded a prestigious National Science Foundation OPUS grant


The U.S. National Science Foundation has awarded an OPUS grant for $167,939.00 to Dr. Grace Wyngaard, Professor of Biology, for her proposal "Developing a Synthetic Understanding of Programmed DNA Elimination in Eukaryotes and the Evolution of Genome Size in Copepods". This is the equivalent of a lifetime achievement award and offers Dr. Wyngaard an opportunity to synthesize her 30 years of research with future directions in the field. It is only the second time a woman has received an OPUS award in the past 20 years.
