Capt. Jeff Soule ('02)When Capt. Jeff Soule and his friend Matt Holland decided on a cross-country bike ride covering approximately 4,300 miles, it wasn't simply an extreme adventure, it was an opportunity to raise money for cancer research. Jeff dedicated his journey in memory of his father Thomas Soule, who died of brain cancer, raising money for the National Brain Tumor Society. Jeff and Matt's venture, "Two Blokes on Spokes," traveled through 15 states across the country from Anacortes, Wash. to Bar Harbor, Maine. With a goal to raise $1 for every mile he pedaled, Jeff exceeded his target of $4,300. He doesn't mind putting himself to the test. Several weeks before departing on his cross-country mission, Jeff teamed up with his brother, Greg, in the U.S. Army's Best Ranger Competition. During the three-day event, the brothers competed against some of the best athletes in the military, and the Soules finished second overall in the grueling contest.

"Even though the miles are far behind us, the challenge still continues. … Look through our pictures, read our posts, but most importantly, get out there … make a difference in a person's life." — from the 2 Blokes on Spokes: X Country Ride blog.
