JMU professor part of CDC diabetes panel this afternoon

Erin Piker, a professor of communication sciences and disorders at James Madison University, will be a panelist at 2:30 p.m. today for a virtual CDC webinar on "The Impact of Diabetes on Hearing and Balance." 

Presented by the CDC's Division of Diabetes Translation, panel of experts will discuss the relationship between diabetes and ear health, and will highlight ways to identify and manage hearing and balance problems. The panelists will also explore how to build awareness about how to prevent and manage hearing loss and balance issues. 

Piker is a subject matter expert for the CDC in the area of audiology and will be presenting on the effects of diabetes on vestibular function and risk of falls.
