Literacy night encourages early learning

The College of Education will be co-hosting a Family Literacy Night in partnership with Elon Rhodes Early Learning Center tomorrow, Tuesday, October 9, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Smithland Elementary, located at 474 Linda Lane.

Undergraduate students enrolled in Early Literacy Acquisition and Development, have organized literacy stations for preschool families to rotate through while engaging in interactive activities. The school is providing pizza, and at the end of the night children will receive a take-home literacy bag. 

This event is partially funded by the Martha B. & Guy M. Jones Education Endowment and open to media. Students permitted to be photographed can be identified by a sticker.
