Undergraduate Research Symposium Spotlights Summer Work
NewsJames Madison University's Summer Undergraduate Research Symposium is under way Thursday and Friday, July 29-30, in the Festival Conference and Student Center.
The symposium highlights research accomplished in Research Experiences for Undergraduates, programs that provide students from JMU and other schools across the country an opportunity to hone their skills beyond the typical classroom experience by conducting scientific research over the course of several weeks during the summer. Student research in previous years has resulted in patent applications and collaborations with other institutions, as well as service in the community.
The students' work in chemistry, physics, geology, integrated science and technology and mathematics will be highlighted during the two-day symposium.
