Wed, 6 May 2026 10:00 PM - 12:00 PM
Location: Wine-Price Building
Description:
Kindergarten classroom rules:
- Treat others with respect.
- Use your words, not your teeth.
- Take turns and share.
- Ask for help.
- Turn your listening ears on.
During this time of cultural, political, and financial unrest, it may be time to get back to the basics.
In this session, we will create plans for modeling and reminding ourselves and others of the behaviors that make us great classmates, what makes that process difficult, and how we can counter some of today’s challenges by getting back to the basics.
There may even be a snack.
And a nap (ok, not a nap, but it’s still a nice thought).
Learning Objectives:
- Recognize basic behaviors required for healthy “classrooms”.
- Think about why these simple behaviors are important for creating a safe, welcoming, and effective environment.
- Create realistic ways to show and support positive behavior.
- Choose at least one way to bring these basic values into your current "classroom".
