Book Discussion with Flower Darby

Tue, 20 Feb 2024 12:00 AM - 12:00 PM

On November 14, 2023, the CFI was delighted to host Flower Darby, co-author of The Norton Guide to Equity-Minded Teaching, for a virtual presentation based on her book. As part of her engagement with JMU, during May Symposium 2024, Darby has also agreed to talk with a small group of faculty who have read the book.

In case you missed Darby’s presentation, you can access a videorecording of it on the CFI program recordings webpage, using your JMU credentials. CFI Director Gilpatrick Hornsby also recently wrote a CFI Toolbox introducing some of its content. And her co-edited e-book is available online for free.

To help you prepare for participating in the book discussion, Assistant Director of Teaching Emily Gravett will send out a suggested reading schedule for the chapters and email check-ins as the semester goes on. We will also confirm your readiness and availability to participate closer to May 16.

If you are interested in participating, please register below!
