How do we offer writing help to a friend, classmate, team member, or colleague? We know the pitfalls. It's easier to offer vague praise—"Good job! I like this :)"—than it is to offer constructive advice. It's easier to highlight sentence-level "errors" than it is to explain bigger-picture opportunities for real revision.
