"Matthew R. Staley was offered roles in the avant-garde theatrical
production of "Die Hard: The Puppet Musical" as well as The Shakespeare
TheatreĀ’s production of "Taming of the Shrew" but had to pass due to
conflicts with several other projects.
Recently, Matthew wrapped on the b&w 16mm short, "Train Track Turnaround",
in which he performed the lead role of the villain, Stanley-No-Good, as well as
provided narration for the film. Matthew also filmed a scene for the 35mm indie
film "Winter Wheat" in which his character gets hit by a car. Recently,
Matthew auditioned for the off-Broadway production of "Fuerzabruta" (the
latest show from the creators of "De La Guarda" a national "Circuit City"
commercial, a print job for "ASICS", and had an extremely well received
audition for The Flea Theater and their resident acting company, The Bats, with
his infamous physical comedy monologue (which he began working on while at JMU). In other news, the commercial in which Matthew acted and performed his own
stunts is airing now and can be seen on YouTube by typing in "Avaya Cowboys"
