Megan Andritz, Class of 1996 - Posted on 9/20/2008: "I have enjoyed many wonderful and educational theatrical endevours since graduating in '96. After college graduation, I have performed in many summerstock, equity and regional theaters across the US. I have performed for Commodore and Norwegian Cruise Lines as a singer and dancer on world cruises, as well as performed for Walt Disney world, Hershey Park and Busch Gardens. I have loved every bit of performing, but I have redirected my love for the musical theater through teaching and administration. I have wrote, directed, choreographed and produced my own Broadway camp and in schools for children 8-17 years old for the past 4 years. I would like to thank the wonderful JMU theater and dance faculty for instilling the love of the performing arts! I will be forever grateful! Can't wait to come visit the new performing arts center!"

Laura Atwood, Class of 2003 - Posted on 3/27/2008 "I graduated from Arizona State University in 06 with a Master of Fine Arts. I am the technical director at Scottsdale Community College as well as teach Dance and Technology. I am the co-director of Flux Dance Project, a modern company that has performed in the Phoenix Valley and San Francisco. I work full time as Graphic Designer and Marketing Coordintor for a large company and hopefully will branch out into my own company soon."

Danielle Augone, Class of 2004 - Posted on 8/11/2006
"I am performing at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando FL, portraying the roles of Belle, Ariel, and the Disney Channel's Kim Possible. I've had the opportunity to participate in a number of parades and shows, including the new Disney Dreams Come True Parade at the Magic Kingdom, and Fantasmic at the Disney MGM Studios. I was also selected to be a trainer for the Entertainment Department, and will begin training in early 2007."

Ariella Beth Bowden, Class of 2004 - (Submitted on 9/24/2007): After an international tour with The Wooster Group's Hamlet, Ariella is now working as the Wardrobe Supervisor at The Blue Man Group. She was the costume designer for The Shalimar's La Femme that won for best ensemble at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this summer. She continues to act in sketch, and is currently performing with fellow JMUers in The Gossip Factory's latest piece, 4F: The New Class.

Elise Boyd, Class of 2004 - Submitted 12/29/2008: "Hi guys! I just finished a run of Inspecting Carol (playing MJ) at Sycamore Rouge in Petersburg, just south of Richmond after having stage managed two shows for them: A Streetcar Named Desire (where I played Eunice for 2 shows) and Read-y For Right written and directed by artistic director kb saine. This show was dedicated to the city of Petersburg telling the story of sit-in protests at the Peterburg Public Library which led to its desegregation in 1960. I'm still teaching at Bailey Bridge and finding myself busier every day. I hope everyone there is doing well. Much love!"

Tara Burgess (McNeeley), Class of 2000 - (Posted Oct 3, 2007):
I am currently living in Okinawa Japan, my husband is stationed here in
the Air Force. I have started two dance programs on two different bases and teach 20 classes a week to over 200 children. I teach on Kadena Air Base and started "OkiDance" on Camp McTureous, it was a challenge to start, but I wanted to give our military children overseas the same opportunities for dance that the children in the states get! I have lived here for a year now and look forward to the two years we have left on island, it is a wonderful experience! I constantly tell my older students stories of my days at JMU as a dance major, you never know they may end up there too in a couple of years!

Barry Carter, Class of 1976 - Posted on 8/11/2006"I still keep my hand in doing some acting and writing for my church. I've been a Vice President for Dave & Buster's, Inc. since 1994 and am responsible for all Beverage Operations. I also serve as a member of the Editorial Advisory
Board for Cheers Magazine and am a frequent contributor to books and magazine articles regarding the beverage industry."

Barbara (Cecchini) Maclam, Class of 1993 - Posted on 3/20/2008 "This is my 11th year teaching P.E. I have a dance group, the Dancing Eagles, at the school where I teach. It is made up of approx.70,4th & 5th grade boys & girls. They recently performed for VAHPERD. I plan to start a dance group at the local middle school & to choreograph for the high school's spring musical in '09."

Lisa Chapman, Class of 1992 (Submitted on 12/2/2007) - "I moved to Las Vegas seven years ago without having a plan for my time here. I've worked in wardrobe for various shows on the strip during that time (Storm, Mamma Mia, We Will Rock You) and also spent two years walking stilts at the Paris Hotel. For the past two years I've been Asst. Head of Wardrobe for LOVE which is operated by Cirque du Soleil at the Mirage Hotel."

Katie Culligan, Class of 2007 -  Posted on 9/9/2008 - Katie has spent the past six months performing in the musical Viva Italia at Busch Gardens and will sing in a new Country show for the fall season. She will then head back to the Washington D.C. area to perform in Fords Theatre's A Christmas Carol in November/December 2008.

Gina Giambattista Cesari, Class of 1987 - Posted on 12/1/2005:
"After having served as the Director of Contract Services at the University/Resident Theatre Association (U/RTA) for 13 years, and then dabbling as a Spanish teacher at a Montessori School in Western New York(where we wrote and produced our own summer plays), I am currently working as the Program Manager for the East Asia Program (China, Japan and Korea) at Cornell University. The job entails many of the management and administrative skills I've developed through my years in Theatre, and puts me in an academic setting where I get another chance to take classes! In addition, I'm working with the Japan Foundation to bring in a Bunraku production to Ithaca in 2007. Mixing old passions with new endeavors is extremely cool at this point in my life, particularly in dealing with a part of the world completely new to me."

Ryan Chrisman, Class of 2003 - (submitted on 9/24/2007): Ryan Chrisman will premiere her MFA Dance Thesis, "Place(d)," an evening length outdoor site-specific work with an original score in conjunction with its video documentary, "Placing," at the University of Maryland in March 2008. - Posted on 8/11/2006: "Currently an MFA candidate/instructor in dance at the University of Maryland, College Park and recent hire of Performance Plus at The Kennedy Center in Washington, DC which implements arts education programs and runs the pre-professional ballet program with legendary ballerina, Suzanne Farrell."

Lyndsey Cole, Class of 2006 - Posted on 7/2/2007:
"Lyndsey Cole is a featured cast member in the 2nd Nat'l tour of the
musical Jersey Boys. In October, the show will officially debut in Chicago where it will sit down as the Chicago company. One of three females in the cast, Lyndsey plays multiple featured roles including Francine Valli and Frankie Nolan."

Kristen Comyns (Hummerston), Class of 2000 - (submitted on 10/11/2007): Kristen will be at Seaside Music Theater this Winter to perform in "White Christmas", playing the role of Rita. Other recent credits include Charlotte/Milkmaid in "Oliver!" at the Fulton Opera House, and as a swing in "Peter Pan".

Donna Costello Class of 1996 - Posted on8/11/2006 "Donna is dancing for Mollie O'Brien's Mob productions and is rehearsing for their upcoming season at Dance New Amsterdam in October where the company will premiere 'Mammal.' She also recently began working with Jill Sigman/thinkdance for her project "Rupture" that Dancespace Project will present at St. Mark's Church in February. She continues her work with Shannon Hummel's Cora Dance and has been dabbling in ballroom dance with partner Paul Grecki.  Donna is currently a teaching artist candidate for the Lincoln Center Institute."

John R Crawford, Class of 1981 (submitted 10/5/2007): After serving for ten years as the Director of the School of Theatre and Dance at Kent State University, I am now Associate Dean in the College of the
Arts at Kent State.

David Dalton, Class of 1998 - Posted on 6/4/2007: "Dave Dalton's adaptation of H.M.S. Pinafore was nominated for a 2007 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Revival of a Musical. Dave adapteed the play using Gilbert's own "Pinafore Picture Book," and he directed the production for
New York's Vortex Theater Company."

Geoffrey Ehrlich, Class of 2001 - (submitted on 9/24/2007) - I am currently working as the art dept coordinator on the new series "Gossip Girl." In my free time, I am a founding member of Gk1 with fellow JMU Alumni Kelly Bartnik and Dena Ghieth.

Jessi Elgin, Class of 2008 - Posted on 5/18/2008 Jessi will spend the year performing at the Carousel Dinner Theatre in Fort Collins, CO.

Keith Foster, Class of 2004 - - I have started working steadily with the theatre group "Fine Feathered Friends," recently finishing my fourth production with the well reviewed company. I received a nomination for Best Featured Actor from the Midtown Theatre Festival for my performance in "By the Light of the Silvery Moon" based on "The Yellow Wallpaper." I am currently working on a new piece which will premiere in the new year.

Emma Fyffe, Class of 2008 - Posted on 5/18/2008 Emma will spend 2008/ 2009 traveling the country as a Tour Actor/ Director for Missoula Children's Theatre.

Ashley Graves-DeFabio Gearing, Class of 1997 - (Submitted on 9/25/2007): "Opened New Directions In Dance LLC in 2004 teaching creative movement and choreographing for children and adults with disABILITIES in Harrisonburg area.  Earned M.Ed. in special education from JMU in 2003. Amy Eisenhower Humphrey, Class of 1998 - Posted on 12/6/2006 Amy currently is a Physical Therapist working at a private orthopedic
practice outside Washington DC that specializes in Performing Arts Physical Therapy. She is an on-site Physical therapist as well as a Pilates instructor for the Washington Ballet Company.

Diana Fix Girtain, Class of 2002 (submitted on 10/5/2007): Diana was recently hired at the Denver Center as the draper for "White Christmas." Once done in Colorado, she will start a new job at Dixie State College as the Costume Shop Manager & Lecturer.

Deb Fuller, Class of 1994 - Posted on 3/8/2008 "I recently passed my member's exam for the British Association of Teachers of Dancing (BATD) and am now a certified highland dance teacher. I teach in the Northern VA area and perform with the Thistle Dancers, City of Alexandria Pipes and Drums, and The Washington Scottish Pipe Band."

David Frydrychowski (David Lamb), Class of 1995 - Posted on 9/24/2007: Last season (2006/7), David Frydrychowski played "Garcia" in The Death of Griffin Hunter with leading contemporary verse ensemble Inverse Theatre, in addition to playing "M'Closky" in the 18th Century classic The Octoroon at The Metropolitan Playhouse in NYC's East Village. In the summer, he returned to the Inwood Shakespeare Festival as "Caska" in Julius Caesar, and was rehearsing the title role in Spartacus there when a wayward trident thrust laid him low. He is feeling much better now.

Diana (Fix) Girtain, Class of 2002 - Posted on 8/14/2006
In July, Diana Fix married Richard Girtain in Williamsburg, VA. Also,
this summer Diana draped for the Utah Shakespearean Festival's production of  Anthoy & Cleopatra. She will continue work as the Assistant Costume Director at Norther Illinois University this fall.

Meredith Holcomb aka meredith autry, Posted 4/3/2008 "After spending a wonderful season as a Resident Company Member at Barter Theatre, Meredith joined Actor's Equity as Meredith Autry and relocated to Washington, D.C. She has appeared in a reading at Woolly Mammoth Theatre and can be seen in the Theatre of the First Amendment's Production of TWO-BIT TAJ MAJAL, opening in June. This summer she will also be working on a film version of playwright Catherine Bush's THE QUILTMAKER.

Posted on 2/19/2007:"Meredith has joined Barter Theatre's resident company after playing the title role in JANE EYRE (with set design by JMU professor Richard Finkelstein) and Millie Sykes in MURDERER during the previous fall season. She is currently performing in Catherine Bush's (Steinberg Award Finalist for Playwrighting) THE QUILTMAKER and will begin Noel Coward's BLITHE SPIRIT later this month. She will appear in 8 shows with the Barter this season."

Kristen Hummerston (Stagename: Kristen Comyns), Class of 2004 - Posted 3/3/2006: "Last year I performed at the Fulton Opera House in Seussical the Musical, and played Shelley in Batboy the musical. "This year I recieved a Master of Fine Arts in Costume Design from the University of Tennessee. At the Clarence Brown Theatre I designed Pump Boys and Dinettes, Proof, To Kill a Mockingbird and my thesis project Into the Woods where I was blessed with a $12,000 costume budget! I was also able to study abroad in Salzburg, Prague, Bratislava, Budapest and Vienna. It was hard and exhausting work, and I often referred to my time at JMU as "back when
theatre was fun!" I'm currently back in Richmond and hoping to work in theatre and film in the Washington D.C. area."

Sarah Jennings, Class of 2005 - Posted 4/26/2006:
"I am currently the Dance Program Coordinator for Gymkix the local Dance Studio that I work for. I teach all technique classes as well as organizing how our program is conducted. I choreographed approximately 8 different pieces this year for our dance company. Our company gained the title of National Champions this season. I teach children ages 18 months to 18 years old. I will be receiving a DEA teaching certification this summer in Las Vegas at UNLV."

Candace Johnson (Decker), Class of 1991 - Posted on 8/14/2006
Candace appeared in the cabaret, LOVE CANDY as part of the University of Wisconsin-Marshfield, Performing Arts Series. She taught a theatre camp this summer and will begin teaching acting classes this fall as part of the UW's Continuing Education program. Over the last two years Candace has been designing costumes professionally and recently wrapped up as head designer on the new play VROOOMM!! by Janet Allard. She is married to Steven Decker, Assistant Professor
of Theatre at the University of Wisconsin-Marshfield and has a dog named Smokey. She and her husband will be heading to Ireland in March 2007 for a trip to see the country and theatre.

Kendra Johnson, Class of 1991 - Posted on 2/19/2007: "I am an assistant professor and costume designer at Clemson University in SC. I have designed costumes for over 20 productions within the last fifteen
years. I also presented and exhibited my research on 19th century
African-American clothing. I have a 10 year old daughter and one dog and two cats!"

Millie (Juraschek) Shipe, Class of 2006 - Submitted on 1/6/2009 - "I spent part of 2007 acting for George Washington University Hospital as a standardized patient to train Medical Students, as well as one feature length independent film. Since then I have relocated to Orlando, FL where I have been hired by Walt Disney World to be a sub for Belle in the equity show "Story Time with Belle." I just played the lead in a feature length independent film and will travel to Kentucky in Oct. to play one of the leads in another feature length film. I've also worked on a variety of shorts, extra work for commercial/film, community theatre, professional children's theatre, print work (, and as a lead in two TV pilots. Thanks JMU!"

"I just finished performing in the Tony Award Winning Broadway show Avenue Q in Las Vegas at the Wynn Hotel. I am currently in rehearsals for a new musical that was selected to be in the prestigious New York Music Theatre Festival in September. "I have launched my own theatre company - Examined Man Theatre - which will produce plays that question and redefine societal views of masculinity. My first production will be in the winter of 2007. I am currently assistant directing a production of Trojan Women v 2.0 by Charles Mee. I've started designing again, too, having just designed lights for the dance company Contra Tiempo in the NY International Fringe Festival."

Drew Lanzarotta, Class of 1994 - Posted on 3/1/2009: "Recently made my Broadway debut on the crew for Shrek in the first transition pushing a door unit on stage. I do actually have to wear a costume though. Which is close enough for me."

"This Spring Tracey will reprise the role of Mayme in Lynn Nottage's INTIMATE APPAREL at Merrimack Repertory Theatre (MA). She played the role at Theatreworks (CA) in summer '05. 2005 also included playing The Acid Queen in THE WHO'S TOMMY at Pittsburgh CLO and Ida B. Wells in CONSTANT STAR, a labor of love she has toured the country with since 2003."

DAna Lokitis, Class of 2006 - Posted on 4/9/2008 "Dana is currently a member of CrossCurrents Dance Company and Jane Franklin Dance performing at venues along the east coast including the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage. Summer of 2008 Dana will begin the Entry-Level Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at the University of Maryland School of Medicine."

"In my recent move to San Diego, California (June 2006), I have been appointed 'Senior Director of Development for University Initiatives in Arts & Culture' at San Diego State University. This is a newly created position for the University's upcoming capital campaign with responsibility for raising major gifts ($100,000 and above) for programs in Theatre, Dance, Music, Visual Arts, Film, Television and Media Production and City-wide Arts Collaboratives."

Michael Minarik , Class of 2000 - Posted 2/24/2008 "recently was seen in the Broadway Revival of Les Miserables as Grantaire. Produced an critcally acclaimed off-broadway show called The Scene, starring Tv's Tony Shalhoub and Patricisa Heaton at Second Stage. About to start performing the role of Jaques in The Happy Time, part of the Kander and Ebb celebration at the Signature Theater."

Asher Nicholson, Class of 2008 - - Asher Nicholson recently finished work at Lost Nation Theater, in Montpelier, Vermont. He was the featured performer in Lies and Legends: The Musical Stories of Harry Chapin. Asher will be returning to Lost Nation in September to begin work on Judevine, a play by poet David Budbill.

Janice was 6 months pregnant during production, and now she and Darren Setlow '89 welcomed their second son, Conor Francis Setlow to the world on May 28, 2007. Janice also helped develop and perform a one woman show based on the life of Clara Schumann, called Virtuosa written by Diane Seymour. The show is part of the this year's NYMF festival."

Tom Reed, Class of 1998 -  Submitted on 9/8/2008 - Tom is the primary acting teacher at Alverno College in Milwaukee, and the artistic director of Quasi productions, a small equity theatre in Milwaukee. (submitted 9/24/2007) "Matthew R. Staley was offered roles in the avant-garde theatrical production of "Die Hard: The Puppet Musical" as well as The Shakespeare TheatreÂ’s production of "Taming of the Shrew" but had to pass due to conflicts with several other projects.
Recently, Matthew wrapped on the b&w 16mm short, "Train Track Turnaround", in which he performed the lead role of the villain, Stanley-No-Good, as well as provided narration for the film. Matthew also filmed a scene for the 35mm indie film "Winter Wheat" in which his character gets hit by a car. Recently, Matthew auditioned for the off-Broadway production of "Fuerzabruta" (the latest show from the creators of "De La Guarda" a national "Circuit City" commercial, a print job for "ASICS", and had an extremely well received audition for The Flea Theater and their resident acting company, The Bats, with his infamous physical comedy monologue (which he began working on while at JMU).
