Movie
Location: Grafton Stovall Theater

Grafton Stovall is presenting a showing of Lincoln! Popcorn and drinks will be provided before and during the movie.

Bingo
Location: Festival Highlands Room

Join us for Bingo and a chance to win some exciting prizes!

JAD Blood Drive
Location: Festival Alleghany Room

Virginia Blood Services will be on hand to accept blood donations throughout the day.

Registration is preferred, but not required, for this event. Regardless of registration, you will need to bring ID to be able to donate.

Sessions: Every 15 Minutes from 10 A.M. until 2:45 P.M. Max: 2 per session

 


Chair Massages
Location: Outside of the Festival Highlands Room

Relax and unwind with a chair massage from the professionals at UREC!

Meditation
Location: UREC

Meditation is simply learning to listen. Breath work and guided imagery can be tools to help you relieve stress and tune in to that deep voice within. Take time for you during the week. Relax, recharge, and renew. Each class will feature different meditation techniques. All skill levels welcome for this interactive program. Please dress comfortably and in layers.

Exploring the Night Sky at the John C. Wells Planetarium
Location: John C. Wells Planetarium, Miller Hall

Our Ancestors were adept at decoding the sky to learn their position on the surface of the planet, to tell the passage of time, and to learn when winter was approaching. Today, astrophysics is an academic enterprise in which we have learned our Universe is filled with billions of galaxies, each of which can have billions of stars. We are now learning that planets around these stars are common. Is the discovery of life next? Join us for a workshop at the John C. Wells Planetarium to learn more about these discoveries and how you can use the constellations to find your way around the night sky.

Climb the Wall!

Zumba
Location: UREC Instructional Room

Ditch the Workout and Join the Party! A Latin inspired workout that promises some hip shakin', core movement, and a ton of fun! Expect moderate to challenging choreography. All fitness levels welcome

Arboretum Tour
Location: Frances Plecker Education Center.

Springtime is Arboretum Time! A guided tour of the Edith Carrier Arboretum to view the spring beauty. Wear comfortable shoes.

Hatha Yoga
Location: UREC Instructional Room

Hatha Yoga - Postures (asanas) and stretches in combination with the breath develop flexibility and relaxation. Bring balance, strength, and calmness into your life. This Yoga is for every BODY. All fitness levels welcome.

ROTC: Eagle Hall Rappelling
Location: Eagle Hall

See what all the hype is about!   Rappel off Eagle Hall.  The JMU ROTC cadre will teach basic rappelling techniques and then give you the opportunity to try out your skills on one of the tallest buildings on campus.  No experience necessary.

University Park Tour
Location: University Park

Haven't had the chance to visit the UREC facilities at University Park? Take a bus over to the facility for a tour! University Park is located on the corner of Port Republic and Neff Avenue in Harrisonburg, Virginia, only minutes from JMU's campus. University Park's recreation facilities provide the JMU community with outdoor recreation spaces to meet a diverse set of needs. The Gatehouse serves as a welcome center and includes an equipment checkout area, an administrative office, restrooms, dressing rooms and a meeting room. A pavilion offers participants an area for picnics and cookouts, and may also double as a performance venue. An open event lawn is available primarily for informal recreation but may also be scheduled for special events. There are two Sand Volleyball Courts, two Basketball Courts, and four Tennis Courts. A nine-hole disc golf course is located near the large parking lots. Come take a tour and enjoy the outdoors.

 

Transportation will be available via JMU busses from the Festival.

Disc Golf
Location: University Park

University Park features an 18-hole, wooded Disc Golf Course! Disc Golf is played much like traditional golf except that there are no clubs and the ball and hole are replaced by a flying disk and elevated metal basket.

Forbes Center Tour
Location: Forbes Center for the Performing Arts. Mainstage Lobby

Enjoy a guided tour of the Forbes Center for the Performing Arts. See how the performance spaces were masterfully designed for optimal performance.

JMU Police Department Tour
Location: Anthony Seeger Hall, PD Lobby

Enjoy a guided tour of the JMU Police Department and the opportunity to get to know a little bit more about the men and women who work hard to keep our campus safe.
