Welcome to our School.  As many current students are aware, the Departments of Hospitality and Tourism Management and Sport and Recreation Management were merged to create the new School of Hospitality, Sport and Recreation Management.
 

Although each Department has its own successful and prestigious history at JMU, this powerful new alliance will allow faculty to provide an even greater educational, personal and professional experience for its students.  The creation of this new community within JMU reflects the University’s dedication to a constant evaluation of itself and a willingness to implement those innovative changes which promote its proud tradition as a proactive, student-centered institution of higher education.  In a world which is changing ever faster, JMU embodies the concept of Being the Change, and our new School represents that type of Change.  Ever unwavering in our commitment to the futures and successes of students and alumni, James Madison University and the School’s faculty invite you contribute to and be a part of this this unique and promising School.  As we grow…so will you.

Throughout the coming weeks, this main SHSRM site, and the individual sites for Hospitality Management and Sport and Recreation Management, will be undergoing recurring development, so we encourage you to check back often to see the exciting changes.  We are striving to create an internet presence which will provide maximum support and assistance to current students, disseminate information and give guidance to prospective students and nurture a sense of community and networking for our alumni.  Such an ambitious undertaking requires time, therefore we respectfully ask your patience as we work to complete the site.
