| The Jean W. Cash Fund for the David Hallman Award for Excellence in the Study of Southern Literature. Each year, this fund will provide a cash award to an outstanding undergraduate senior or junior who demonstrates exceptional achievement in the study of Southern Literature and who plans to attend graduate school. It is expected that this fund will provide a minimum award of $200 to the recipient. The University's Department of English will make the selection of a qualified student. Beyond this criterion, the appointment of a student as a Hallman Award Scholar shall follow the University's guidelines for awarding of scholarships. | |

| An endowed scholarship established by Joye and Robert Ledford of Richmond, VA. This scholarship will participate in the VA Student Assistance Scholarship Program. The recipient must be a full-time JMU student majoring in English; must be in good standing and a legal resident of VA. Financial need should be considered, however, financial need is not required. The English faculty should nominate a candidate no later than May 31st for the coming academic year. | |
