Campus Parking

Beginning Friday of Family Weekend, all JMU parking lots are open to visitors with the exception of reserved football lots during the times indicated below. Be sure to park in general spaces not designated for special use by signage. Parking meters are enforced 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call Parking Services at (540) 568-3300 for recommendations on parking lots close to your destination. Lot reservation for football begins at 4:00 PM on Friday and continues until the conclusion of the football game on Saturday. Any vehicles left in reserved lots after 9:00 PM on Friday may be cited and towed. View parking map »

Football Game-Day Parking

Shuttle Buses: Shuttle buses will operate continuously both on and off campus, beginning three hours prior to the football game until two hours after the game ends. On campus, JMU buses will circulate from the parking lots at Convo, Festival (C11/C12 Lots), D2 Lot and the Godwin Transit Center (GTC) by the stadium.  Buses will also circulate between the Warsaw parking deck and the GTC. Off campus, Harrisonburg Transit buses will operate between virtually all of the City hotels, and the off-campus apartments to the GTC. These schedules are available at

Shuttle bus services will also be provided for handicapped visitors. These buses will operate from the handicapped parking lot (R8 Lot) near the MLK Parkway to the Gate A and Gates C/D at the stadium. In addition, paratransit buses will be available on demand at any time throughout the campus and the City by calling HDPT at 540-432-0492.

General Parking: Visit for more information on general football parking lots. On game day, all lots not reserved for Duke Club members with season passes are general parking lots and may be used at no charge.  For more information about joining the Duke Club, visit

Ticket Information

Meal Ticket Orders

Tickets are on sale now at and registration ends on Sept. 21. Tickets for the football game, Godwin Field Picnic, Fan Favorites at D-Hub and Fantastic Feast will be delivered no later than two weeks prior to the event. Tickets may also be purchased in advance at the Athletic Ticket Office (inside entrance D) in the Convocation Center, located at 895 University Boulevard, between 9 AM and 5 PM Monday through Friday or by phone at (540) 568-3853. Orders received within 10 days of the event will not be mailed, and tickets may be picked up at venue locations on day of event.

Godwin Field Picnic: JMU students with meal plans need tickets (must have “meal punch” available) and must present JACard at the entrance to attend this meal at no additional cost. If inclement weather, tickets can be used at D-Hub and E-Hall.  |  Buy tickets »

Football Ticket Information: Football tickets are on sale now! Advance ticket purchase is highly recommended! Reserved and general admission seating available. Please note, JMU student tickets are free (w/ student ID number) but must be requested with the family’s paid order to be seated together. Where can my family find lodging?
Area accommodations fill up quickly, so make your reservations early! See a list of hotels/motels in Harrisonburg and surrounding areas here.

When should I plan to arrive and depart?  
Parents arrive as their work obligations and other commitments permit. The more popular events (student conferences, shows and football game) are generally scheduled for midafternoon on Friday into Saturday evening. 

Do we need to register somewhere when we arrive on campus? 
There is no need to formally register upon arrival. Please review individual event descriptions for registration information. 

What is the refund policy?  
No refunds or exchanges. For questions regarding your order, please contact the JMU Athletic Ticket Office at (540) 568-3853 or 

Are family members/guests invited?
Family members and/or guests are welcome at events. 

What is the dress code for Family Weekend?
We see many styles of dress ranging from casual to business attire. We recommend that you dress comfortably and in layers as temperatures throughout each day may vary. (Please note that the Fantastic Feast is casual attire.)

JMU students are responsible for maintaining accurate home mailing addresses. For inaccurate addresses, please ask your student to update his or her home address in MyMadison.

Where can I purchase JMU clothing and other logo items?
The JMU Bookstore and at Saturday’s Godwin Field Festival (Godwin Field). 

Is tailgating allowed and if so, where?
Yes, on football game day, you may tailgate in any of the general parking lots on campus. General parking is free and available on a first come basis. Tailgating in general lots is permitted four hours prior game time. Reserved parking is available for Duke Club Members, call (540) 568-3853 for more information.
