New Program for Parents & Grandparents

Parents and Grandparents GET INVOLVED!
The JMU Office of Career and Academic Planning would like to introduce a new resource for parents and grandparents, the Career Contact and Alumni Network (CCAN). Serve as a mentor to a JMU student. What better way to connect with JMU than to provide a current student with advice and assistance integral to their successful progression toward a career. From identifying a major to determining a career field of interest, everyone can benefit from this type of resource. Students want to learn more about what professionals experience in the working world, and by registering as a JMU Career Contact, individuals can make that connection.Click on the icon above for more information.

September 28-30, 2007

Parents and families came from all around to JMU to join their students with fun-in-the-sun at Family Weekend 2007. The weekend began on Friday with the annual General Education Student Conference with over 200 attendees, Saturday with a sellout of the Morning Canoe trip on the Shenandoah River, then on to the Godwin Field Festival featuring 22 area vendors and hundreds of patrons, then the much anticipated football KICK-OFF with JMU vs Villanova ending in a 35 to 7 victory! Click here to see game footage.

The Pops Concert rocked the night away with JMU’s very own; Chorale, Brass Band, Symphony Orchestra, and Marching Royal Dukes, and with an astounding 1,805 attendees! Wrapping the weekend up, last, but not least, the JMU student-led a cappella groups came together in a concert of tight harmonies and blended sounds in their annual, A Cappella Thon Concert.
A huge thank you goes out to all who participated!
