Meet Our Instructors
Andrew Ansoorian, SHRM-SCP, SPHR

Andrew Ansoorian has served as the Executive Director of Human Resources at Harrisonburg City Public Schools since 2013. He has over 20 years of executive human capital management experience in the K-12 industry. Andrew leads with a strategic management approach that embraces collaboration, creativity, results and communication. Prior to working for Harrisonburg City Public Schools, Andrew served as the Director of Human Resources at Covina Valley Unified School District and Shenandoah Public Schools. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from James Madison University and a Master of Science from California State University – San Bernardino. Andrew is a certified professional in Human Resources having earned both the SHRM-SCP and SPHR.

Susan Grossman, SHRM-SCP, SPHR

Susan Grossman has been an active HR professional for over 15 years. She received her PHR in 2000, SPHR in 2010, and SHRM-SCP in 2015. She recently completed her second year as President of Shenandoah Valley SHRM chapter. Prior to becoming president-elect in 2012, she was Workforce Readiness Chair. Susan has taught both the HRCI and EHRM courses, as well as designing seminars for local businesses. During the day, Susan is the HR Generalist at Truck Enterprises, Inc. She is originally from Philadelphia where she was the HR Manager for The Philadelphia Orchestra Association. She moved to Virginia in 2003 after meeting her now-husband, Alan. Susan has three grown children. While not at work, Susan has a small crochet business and loves to create custom designs for her clients. During the non-winter months, you can find Susan riding her horse, or with her husband, Alan attending music festivals and concerts around the country.

Meghan Schaeffer, SHRM-CP

Meghan is employed as the Leave Coordinator for James Madison University. In this role she manages all facets of the leave system including system requirements, testing, reporting, data integrity, and counseling. As a member of the Benefits team, Meghan provides customer service to JMU faculty and staff in regards to their benefits and facilitates various benefits-related training courses for the university. Meghan has been employed with James Madison University since July 2013. She holds a B.S. from Virginia Tech in Education and is also a Society of Human Resources Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP). She is a member of Society of Human Resources Management(SHRM), serves as the Social Media Chair for the Shenandoah Valley chapter of the Society of Human Resource Managers (SVSHRM), and is a member of the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR).
