This is a process we encourage at JMU Orientation. It can help you to make wise decisions throughout your college career so that you learn and grow as much as possible while you're at JMU. During Summer Springboard in June and July and then 1787 in August, you'll begin your first year here and experience all that JMU offers. Orientation is part of what we call the First-Year Experience. You'll call it the beginning of the greatest year of your life.

First-Year Springboard: June 23, 24, 26, 27, 30, July 1, 2, 7, 8, 10, 11, 14, 15, & 16

First-Year Residence Hall Move-in: August 19 & 20

First Year 1787 Orientation: August 20-24

Transfer 1787 Orientation: August 22-24

First day of classes: August 25
