What is a Note Taking Accommodation?

A Note Taking Accommodation is one of several accommodations that may be awarded to a student with a disability. To be considered, students should complete the Office of Disability Services (ODS) Application and Release of Information forms and submit these documents in conjunction with applicable paperwork substantiating their disability. This type of accommodation is meant to supplement the student's own abilities and efforts and does not preclude their responsibility to attend class regularly, participate fully and record notes to the best of their ability.

Students with a temporary impairment, such as a broken dominant hand, that prevents them from recording their own notes may also be eligible to receive note taking assistance. For more information, please contact the Office of Disability Services.
