What am I looking forward to this summer?

SUMMARY: Dardanë is looking forward to sleeping in this summer, visiting family in Atlanta and Mississippi, exploring the Southern U.S, baking, and working on a writing project for her graduate assistantship.

Summer is nearly here and I can’t wait for it! This will be my first summer in the U.S., and I’m curious to see how it goes.

One of the best things about summer break will be not having to wake up early! I can finally take a break from those 6 or 7 a.m. alarms, and I can enjoy sleeping in late. I’m a morning person, but I think I need to get a few extra hours of sleep each day during the school year.

This summer I am especially excited that I will be able to visit family in Atlanta and Mississippi. It's been so long since I've seen them! I look forward to catching up. I also look forward to exploring new parts of the U.S. I understand that it will be hot and humid, but I'm looking forward to experiencing the summer in the Southern U.S. I’m stocking up on anti-frizz products for my hair during those humid days. And of course, summer without a few days on the beach would be an incomplete summer. I will explore nearby beaches and plan to enjoy several days there.

I'm also ready to have time for my hobbies. I have missed baking and cooking during the school year, so I plan to bake and try out new recipes. Baking always calms me down, and I love pairing what I bake with a cup of coffee. I’ll also catch up on new TV shows without fear of spoilers from my friends.

Part-time this summer, I'll be working a writing project for my graduate assistantship. The project will be a great chance for me to learn and grow professionally. I’ll get to practice a lot of what I’ve learned in classes this year and gain some hands-on experience. And best of all, I’ll be able to work on the project during my summer travel around the U.S.!

Summer break offers the perfect opportunity to recharge and return to the fall semester feeling motivated for whatever comes my way. Summer, here I come!
