Geology Hosts EarthScope Workshop

Dr. Steve Whitmeyer (Dept. of Geology & Environmental Science) hosted a 3-day workshop at JMU entitled "Synthesizing EarthScope Results to Develop a New Community Model for the 4-D Evolution of North America." The workshop was funded by the National Science Foundation's EarthScope program. Nineteen scientists from around the United States participated in presentations and working groups to synthesize current research on the geologic evolution of North America and identify future research goals.
