Mert TokmanIn each college at JMU, professors are asked to annually nominate their colleagues for the Madison Scholar award. Winners exemplify excellence and scholarly achievement in their respective disciplines. This year the College of Business (CoB) would like to congratulate Dr. Mert Tokman, Madison Scholar 2015 award recipient.

Tokman has been described as a creative, committed and energetic scholar who has been extremely productive in generating research that deepens our understanding of effective business practice. His work examines the role of technology in the maintenance and management of relationships in a complex supply chain. Tokman has contributed to understanding the way in which reverse logistics unfold developing economies.

In line with Madison Scholar tradition, Tokman delivered a presentation of his work entitled “Value Co-Creation via Consumer Logistics” to a group of his CoB colleagues after receiving his official Madison Scholar pin. His presentation described how traditional resource-based theories explain the overlap between industrial marketing and supply chain management. Tokman also discussed how these views are shifting toward contemporary paradigms with the impact of emerging technologies.

Join us in celebrating Dr. Mert Tokman for his recognition as a 2015 Madison Scholar.
