Congratulations to Tim Louwers!

Tim LouwersCollege of Business Professor Dr. Tim Louwers and co-authors Ronald J. Daigle and Jan Taylor Morris  were presented with the Innovative Teaching Award from the Forensic and Investigative Accounting Section of the American Accounting Association (AAA) for their article “HealthSouth, Inc.: An Instructional Case Examining Auditors’ Legal Liability,” recently published in Issues in Accounting Education.  (The article can be found on the AAA website under “Issues in Accounting Education: November 2013.”) The three authors were awarded plaques and shared the $1,000 prize.

 Professor Louwers was also named the Committee Chair for the Auditing section of the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Examination.

 Professor Louwers got his Bachelor’s of Science and his Master’s of Business Administration at the Citadel and he received his Ph.D. from Florida State University. He has written or co-written 12 books and over 50 articles.

 (Professor Louwers appreciates all the concern and well wishes from colleagues and former students regarding his wife, Barbara, who passed away on July 3, 2014, from Early-Onset Alzheimer’s.  He has asked that everyone consider participating and/or donating to the Walk to End Alzheimer’s (https://www.alz.org/) in her memory.)
