"South Asia today, when compared to the last decade is relatively peaceful, at least in terms of the number of active armed conflicts. The primary armed groups have been either decimated (as happened in Sri Lanka), or co-opted (as happened in Nepal), or driven out of power (as happened in Afghanistan) or made relatively irrelevant (as happened in J&K and most of India’s northeast). Yet peace has not returned to these societies; technically, they may be referred as post-conflict societies, but in real terms perpetual peace is yet a far cry." (risingkashmir.com)
