AASCU Honors JMU Engagement

James Madison University will receive the American Association of State Colleges and Universities Excellence and Innovation Award for Civic Learning and Community Engagement. The  James Madison Civic Engagement Initiative was selected by AASCU Awards Committee as an exemplary one that can serve as a model for other institutions and help to advance practices in the field.

JMU and other award recipients will be honored during the opening session of the 2017 AASCU Annual Meeting, in October at La Jolla, California.

AASCU will present a short video about JMU’s program during the general session. AASCU will also publicize winners in its magazine, Public Purpose, and on the AASCU website, as well as acknowledge award recipients in national media outlets and take other steps to ensure public recognition of award winners' accomplishments.
