JMU President Jon Alger and First Lady Mary Ann Alger

The Algers' 2012 arrival marked a new Madison era as we aspire to become a national model for the engaged university. President Alger brings deep experience from his work at Rutgers, the University of Michigan and the U.S. Department of Education. In calling for us all to dream big, the president invites us to recognize higher education's essential role in an era of positive change. Mary Ann Alger 's experience gained from a distinguished career in venture funding and business development will help shape entrepreneurial dreams among students, faculty and alumni. And Eleanor Alger, a Harrisonburg student, reminds us of JMU 's unflagging commitment to student success.
