Col. Nick Spignesi of the U.S. Department of State will discuss conventional weapons destruction programs and the U.S. government's response to the humanitarian situation in Libya from 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 3 in Miller Hall, Room 1101.
Spignesi is the deputy director for mine action programs at The Office of Weapons Removal and Abatement in the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Political-Military Affairs.
The event is part of the fourth annual Post-Conflict Recovery Week (PCRW) occurring April 2–5 at JMU. CISR will sponsor a series of events on the JMU campus throughout the week to increase awareness in the Harrisonburg and JMU community of the global landmine problem, post-conflict related issues and what the center does. Students and faculty are encouraged to attend. All PCRW events are free and open to the public.
