James Madison University's Interim Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Jerry Benson has announced the creation of the Dr. John B. Noftsinger Jr. Memorial Scholarship Endowment.
A valued colleague and community member, Noftsinger passed away November 10. At the time of his passing Noftsinger was the vice provost for research and public service and held the rank of professor in the Department of Integrated Science and Technology and the School of Strategic Leadership Studies.
Noftsinger’s accomplishments at JMU were many and varied. In particular, he was a co-founder and faculty member of the Information (now Intelligence) Analysis program. The Dr. John B. Noftsinger Jr. Memorial Scholarship Endowment will provide financial resources for one or more outstanding undergraduate student scholars in the IA program.
