Applying to the Honors Program

For HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS interested in being an Honors Scholar-Track I student:

Admission into the Honors Program is competitive and based upon your high school academic record, standardized test scores, extracurricular activities, and leadership experiences.  The typical entering honors student will have at least a 1300 SAT combined reading and math score (or 30 or above composite ACT score) OR a 3.75 or higher unweighted GPA in a challenging high school curriculum, and significant extracurricular and leadership experiences.  However, interested students who do not meet one or more of these criteria are welcome to apply and will be given full consideration.

Once you complete and submit your online application to James Madison University, you will receive an e-mail describing the
Honors Program and providing you a link to this page. You must use the link below to apply, however you must first submit your application to JMU. By using the same User ID as your JMU application, you will be able to access the Honors Program application.  You DO NOT need to wait for your decision from JMU to apply to the Honors Program.  Recommendation letters are not required.
