January 19, 2007: Deadline to submit proposal to Honors Program office if you wish to be considered for funding to attend & present your research at the Southern Regional Honors Conference in Charlotte, NC, March 29-31. See 10-27-06 Update on our website for more details. We encourage you to submit proposals and/or attend the conference!

Some honors courses for spring have been combined or cancelled. You will be notified if you are impacted. A revised spring course list will be posted this week on our website.
Since many of you are already planning several semesters ahead, you should be aware that many of our honors GenEd courses and honors seminars occur regularly. We will post the course offerings for fall '05-spring '07 on our website to facilitate your long-range planning.

3. Inside Washington'07: The New Congress / Politics and the Media
One or two weeks in D.C. A great opportunity to be on Capitol Hill the day of the
swearing in of the 110th Congress and a new Speaker of the House! Bob Schieffer of
CBS and Helen Thomas are among the speakers during the Politics and the Media
Week. Other high profile journalists are also expected to speak.Same cost as 2006

4. Leaders on Leadership '07 One-week seminar in May for honors students and

Orientation Program Assistants: The O-Team 2007 recruitment process has just gotten underway. Two positions are open: Orientation Operations Assistants (OOAs) and Orientation Program Assistants (OPAs). Both of these positions are great opportunities for students to become more involved on campus, develop their leadership skills, and grow as individuals.
