Registration: Remember to register for at least one honors course each semester until your requirements are complete (Honors Scholars, Subject-Area Honors). If you have difficulty fitting an honors course in, an honors option may be applied to any 200-level or higher course; the application must be submitted within the first two weeks of the semester, after discussion, approval, and signature of the professor. The form is in your handbook. If you cannot arrange any honors credit in a given semester, you must request a waiver from the Director or Associate Director of the Honors Program so that you will not be dropped from the program.
Opportunity to present your research!! The 21st National Conference on Undergraduate Research is looking for presentations. The call for abstracts begins October 6 and lasts until December 1. This might be a great opportunity for those of you working on senior projects.
Interested in a graduate program in science? The National Institutes of Health & the Univ. of Pennsylvania have combined their resources to create a graduate training partnership unlike any other The NIH-UPENN Advanced Immunology Scholars Program. 2-4 graduate students per year are sponsored in an interdisciplinary curriculum designed to train students in basic science and advanced research technologies to solve key research questions of immunology and infectious diseases. PLEN's program is devoted
exclusively to women and public policy and designed specifically
for women students. Participants work as interns with women leaders
in policy organizations and agencies and participate in seminars
designed to present a variety of issues. Previous internship

Wildlife Federation, Senate and Congressional Offices, U.S.
Department of State, The White House, NOW Legal Momentum, Rape,
Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN), Vital Voices Global
Partnership, Women Under Forty PAC (WUFPAC), National Women's
Political Caucus.
Deadlines: For the Washington Center for Internships & Academic Seminars, the deadlines are Nov. 13 (early) and Dec. 8 (regular) for the January seminar.

T-Shirt Design Contest--Free Shirt for Winners!! Be the first-ever to design an Honors t-shirt!! The Honors Program is looking for t-shirt designs, logos, and slogans. Grilled Cheese Event Can't get enough of Grilled Cheese Thursdays? Come make your own grilled cheese sandwich in the Honors Lounge in the basement of Hillcrest. Choose from a variety of cheeses, breads, and topping (including tomatoes, ham, etc). Other dishes will be served as well. The event will be held from 1-3 pm on Saturday, November 11th. Reminder: you must complete 50 HOP points (10 events) by the end of the school year in order to continue as an Honors Scholar.
