SHAC

Our Mission:

Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) acts as a liaison between students, staff, and administration of the University Health Center (UHC) by informing students of health issues on campus and creating an awareness of the general services offered by UHC. Its efforts are geared towards providing a voice for students, improving the effectiveness of UHC, and promoting healthy lifestyles among the student body.

Our Goals:

  • Allow students to make appointments online
  • Communicate student voices to members of the University Health Center
  • Promote healthy lifestyles on campus by informing students information in popular avenues (ex: table tents and gateway announcements)
  • Voice opinions about privacy issues if/when they arise

Our Accomplishments:

  • Promoting healthy lifestyles by participating in campaigns such as the Great American SmokeOut
  • Improve the quality of privacy at the Health Center by focusing the chairs and TV away from the main door
  • Increased student awareness of services at UHC through weekly table tents.
  • In the process of creating a post-appointment evaluation to get honest and immediate feedback from patients at UHC
