All undergraduate and graduate students must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements to receive financial aid at James Madison University. Federal regulations require each institution to have a SAP policy, which establishes the minimum standards for financial aid eligibility. The university measures your academic performance based on three standards: grade point average (GPA), pace and maximum time.
As you look at this website, please contact us if you have any questions. We recommend that you review each of the following webpages to learn more about the SAP policy and appeals process.
If you are a continuing education student in the teacher licensure program and do not meet SAP requirements, follow the appeals process described for undergraduate students to request reconsideration.
