- 2027-2028 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) opened October 1st, 2026 for the Fall 2027. Students should complete the FAFSA by March 1st, 2027 to meet JMU's priority filing date. Student's can complete an application though studentaid.gov.
- Federal Loan Eligibility Changes for 2026-27
New federal regulations may reduce annual federal student loan eligibility for students who do not complete enough financial aid eligible credit hours during the academic year. Review the new requirements, FAQs, and eligibility calculator, here, to understand how your enrollment may impact your aid.
JMU Student Wellness Survey
JMU is launching a survey to learn more about our students' experiences and opinions about how they pay for college and how they address money issues. We are partnering with Trellis – a nonprofit organization that helps students succeed in college – which will send out the survey on our behalf. Completing this survey will help inform policies that better serve our students as they move towards graduation.
Students can expect this online survey in their email inbox on Tuesday, October 20th, so keep an eye out.
Privacy is important to us – all student answers will be combined with others and will not be linked to any individual student.
