Financial Aid News

  • The Winter Financial Aid Newsletter covers many important topics, including Madison for Keeps, a new program to assist students experiencing financial hardships. In addition, you will find information about scholarships for 2010-11, enrollment changes and your financial aid eligibility, satisfactory progress requirements, the FAFSA priority filing date, our loan repayment Web site, and much more.
  • Financial aid requests have skyrocketed to levels never before seen at JMU. That's why the Madison for Keeps fundraising initiative was created. Students experiencing an economic hardship that might affect their ability to remain at JMU in the 2009-10 school year may now complete the Madison For Keeps Appeal Form.
  • Financial Aid and Scholarships has joined Facebook! For information regarding important updates and deadlines, please join the JMU FAO group(narrow your search criteria by organization).
  • 2010-2011 JMU Foundation Scholarship applications for current undergraduates and Spring 2010 transfer students are now being accepted. With the scholarship application process, the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships will not accept any applications after midnight on Tuesday, January 19th, 2010. Please visit our website at www.jmu.edu/finaid/scholarships to apply.
  • Direct Loans are coming to JMU beginning with the Summer 2009 session. JMU will participate exclusively in the Federal Direct Loan programs. Click here to read more about the changes to all federal student and parent loans.
  • In order to receive financial aid, you must be meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress(SAP). You can review the requirements to ensure your eligibility to receive financial aid at JMU.
