| Essay Assignment I wrote this paper upon the request of my GWRIT teacher,
Professor Helen Storey. Our assignment was to write something that had
an impact on my life. I was tempted to write about my lacrosse experiences,
or coming to JMU... but I knew that I was just avoiding the best topic
I could write about for fear of bringing up the same feelings I had finally
put behind me. I even started to write a paper about playing lacrosse
and how it has changed me, but I really couldn't make it into a great,
worthwhile paper. So I started over, and as soon as I started writing,
I couldn't stop. My fingertips just kept going, and before I knew it,
I was done. It was the best paper I have ever written because it came
straight from my heart.
