The Anne S. Gabbard-Alley Scholarship for Graduate Studies in Health Communication

The M.A. Program in Communication and Advocacy awards this scholarship annually to a first year graduate student in the Health Communication concentration. The award is $1,000.

Review of applications will begin Feb. 15. This application must be submitted concurrently with an application for admission to the Master of Arts program in Communication and Advocacy at James Madison University. Apply to the M.A. program here.

Eligibility
  • A student must have met all acceptance requirements for admission as a full-time student in the Masters of Arts in Communication and Advocacy program,
  • demonstrated excellence as an undergraduate student,
  • have two faculty recommendations from their undergraduate program, and
  • demonstrate a desire to pursue scholarship in the Health Communication concentration.

Beyond the above criteria, the appointment of the AGA Scholarship will follow the university’s guidelines for the awarding of scholarships.

Students awarded the AGA Scholarship will be expected to remain enrolled full-time, remain in good academic standing, and meet criteria for “successful progression” toward the degree, as outlined by The Graduate School of James Madison University.
