JMU’s College of Business (CoB) is among the fewer than 5 percent of business programs accredited by AACSB-International (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), and one of 182 programs to receive accreditation in both business and accounting.
The CoB is included in Money’s top 50 Best Colleges for Business Majors, based on measures of educational quality, affordability and financial success of undergraduate business majors. Included in the top 20 Public Colleges listing, the CoB ranked 7th for Public Early Career Salaries.
The CoB remains one of the nation’s leading business schools, according to the 2016 Bloomberg Businessweek rankings. The undergraduate business program was No. 18 among public institutions across the country and No. 41 overall. JMU’s business program also ranked 25th on the employer survey out of the 114 undergraduate programs reviewed, a testament to the quality of preparation provided by the JMU faculty and through experiential learning and internship opportunities.
Google Online Marketing Challenge
JMU’s marketing students have achieved more wins in the Google Online Marketing Challenge than any other university in the world, including two times as the Global Social Impact Award Winner, AdWords Business Global Co-Winner, Google+ Social Media Marketing Global Winner, five times as AdWords Business Americas Region Winner, and Google+ Social Media Marketing Americas Region Winner.
The CoB was ranked No. 23 for "Best Undergraduate Business Program for 2016" and received an alumni ranking at No. 25 by Poets&Quants, the leading online publication for graduate and undergraduate business education news.
Beta Gamma Sigma
The CoB’s chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) received Honorable Mention in the 2016 Outstanding Chapter Awards, placing fourth out of over 560 chapters worldwide.
National Association of State Boards of Accountancy
Accounting students complete a fifth year masters program and recently had the #1 pass rate on the CPA exam among schools with 20 or more students taking the exam.
Cybersecurity is a top concern for government, businesses, and consumers today. JMU’s Information Security MBA program combines the knowledge and skills of a cutting-edge MBA curriculum with coursework and experiences focused on management challenges in this specific field. MBA Today vetted 350 programs based on estimated tuition cost, accreditation, pay scale, early career salary, prestige and overall graduation rates. JMU's Information Security MBA program was rated #1 in their list of Top 10 Online MBA Degrees in Cybersurity for 2016.

JMU’s Information Security MBA program is ranked No. 28 on US News & World Report's Best Online MBA programs. Ranking is based on factors such as admissions selectivity, reputation for excellence among peer institutions, and academic and career support services offered to students. The program ranked No. 8 in student engagement.
