Graduate Student Invited to Research Symposium

Congratulations to Cara Wright!!  She is the first graduate student in Dietetics to be invited to a one-week research practicum sponsored by the Nutritional Science Research Group in the Division of Cancer Prevention at the National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Department of Nutrition at the Clinical Center, NIH.  At “Nutrition and Cancer Prevention Research,” Cara will be introduced to research concerning the effects of diet and bioactive food components on the prevalence of cancer and the behavior of tumors.  Other topics discussed will include bioenergetics, nutrigenomics, research databases, ethics and health-related messages, pre-clinical and clinical studies and hands-on workshops at NIH Department of Nutrition “Research Day.”  Tours will also be given of the new NIH Clinical Research Center and the Metabolic Kitchen at USDA.
