Dr. Gregory Davis

Presentation by Dr. Gregory David to be Held October 3, 2006

Dr. Gregory L. Davis, Chief Technologist for the Mechanical Systems Division of the California Institute of Technology’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), will be visiting James Madison University on Tuesday, October 3 at 4pm in the nTelos Room (ISAT/CS 259). He will be giving a talk entitled: "An Update from the Red Planet-- Spirit and Opportunity Still Going Strong!" Dr. Davis has an extensive background in planetary spacecraft working on numerous programs including Mars Pathfinder, ST4/Champollion and acting as the mechanical systems engineer for the Mars Exploration Rover (MER) Project. He has also worked at JPL as the supervisor of the Advanced Deployable Structures Group, which deals with the development of new lightweight structures for use in various space endeavors.
