Communication Sciences and Disorders Students Going to Wise, VA to Fit Hearing Aids
On February 24-26, the department of Communication Sciences and Disorders will be making their 4th trip to Wise, VA to fit at least 150 hearing aids. Fifteen audiology students will be working with the University of Virginia Health Systems to achieve their goal. The recipients of these hearing aids, which were donated by Starkey Hearing Foundation, will include mostly Virginia coal miners and their families. The trip is in unison with the Remote Area Medical Project, which offers free medical treatment to impoverished communities around the world.
