Dr. Cadieux, Evidence Analyst for the ADA’s Evidence Analysis Library
Congratulations to Dietetics professor Dr. Cynthia Cadieux!! She has been asked by the American Dietetic Association (ADA) to serve as an evidence analyst for the Evidence Analysis Library. “This is an opportunity to make a great contribution to the field of nutrition and dietetics and to teach our dietetic students the process as well,” says Dr. Cadieux. Adapted by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Evidence Analysis process has become essential in analyzing the validity of research behind current nutrition-based treatments. Dr. Cadieux states, “The Evidence Analysis Library is a wonderful tool for anyone making nutrition-related recommendations to patients/clients.” As an evidence analyst, Dr. Cadieux will have to opportunity to work with other dieticians across the country and hopefully convey her findings back to her JMU students. “One of my goals is to equip our students to enter the profession as accomplished evidence-analysts and a desire to contribute by becoming evidence analysts themselves or by participating on practice-based research teams,” she says.
