ISAT's George Baker Appointed Interim Director of The Institute for Infrastructure and Information Assurance

George Baker, an associate professor of integrated science and technology at JMU, is serving as interim director of The Institute for Infrastructure and Information Assurance. The Institute, known as I3A, was established to oversee and coordinate the efforts of two security-related entities at JMU: the state-funded Commonwealth Information Security Center (CISC) and the federally funded Critical Infrastructure Protection Project (CIPP), a partnership with George Mason University.

The institute will work with business and industrial concerns, governmental organizations and other educational institutions to coordinate the activities of CISC and CIPP. It would also seek federal and state funding, enhance educational opportunities by operating across traditional academic boundaries and provide an overall identity for JMU's security-protection achievements.

For more information, see the JMU Press Release.
