NEW COLLEGES FORMED A plan to reorganize the College of Integrated Science and Technology into two colleges took effect July 1, 2012. The new colleges are the College of Health and Behavioral Studies and the College of Integrated Science and Engineering.
JMU Nursing Group Wins Multiple Honors at 2012 State Convention

Smiles were had by JMU Virginia Nursing Students' Association on Feb. 4. The JMU student group, with 18 student delegates representing Madison, attended the 2012 Annual Virginia Nursing Students' Association (VNSA) Convention in Charlottesville.
Senior Miriam Daoud won the Virginia Student Nurse of the Year award, a very prestigious honor.
Junior Ellen Katzman was also elected VNSA Board Vice President for the year of 2012-2013.
At the convention, there were speakers of various nursing professions and networking opportunities with others in the nursing field.
The JMU NSA won awards such as the Most Active Constituency (MAC) Award. JMU had 466 points, while the second runner-up had 208!
The group also won the Breakthrough to Nursing Award, based on a diversity project, as well at the Scrapbook Award. The scrapbook documented the group's activities throughout the year.
