What is Handshake?
Every JMU student has a Handshake account, starting from the very first semester at JMU. Make sure to activate your Handshake account at your earliest convenience!
Handshake gives all JMU students access to:
- Internships and job opportunities that employers specifically want to hire JMU students for
- Career fairs, University Career Center workshops, and other events
- Employer events, information sessions, and on-campus interviews
- Appointments with JMU Career Advisors in University Career Center.
Who can use it?
- Students from all majors can find job & internship opportunities from more than 800,000 employers, register for career fairs, sign up for career workshops, and make career advising appointments with UCC staff members.
- Alumni have access to all of Handshake for 2 years post-graduation, with many features available for a lifetime.
- Faculty can contact their College's Career Advisor and Liaison for information about using Handshake in the classroom.
- Employers can visit our Post Jobs and Internships page for information on advertising positions.
