To utilize the services of the Alternative Text Program you must be registered with ODS and approved for the accommodation of books and course materials in alternative formats. Click here to learn about how to register with ODS.
During your registration meeting, you will learn more about Alt-Text and be encouraged to schedule a 30 minute training appointment with an Alt-Text Specialist in Wilson 208. This can be done in person at ODS, by calling 540.568.6705, or emailing alt-text@jmu.edu
Be proactive and contact your professor before the beginning of the semester to obtain textbook information. The earlier you submit your order request, the quicker your order can be processed before initial readings are due.
Submit your syllabus along with the Alternative Text order. This will ensure you will receive the materials through installments before your assignment due date.
Maintain consistent communication. Responding to Alternative Text e-mails in a timely manner will help us get you your materials faster.
Be responsible for your own book drop off and pick up when required.
