If you bring your vehicle to James Madison University, you must register your vehicle and pay for the appropriate parking sticker. Students who park on university-owned or leased property are required to display a valid JMU parking permit. Always have a parking sticker when you are on campus.

Go to the parking deck located at the football field to buy your parking permits for the year or pay any fines. You can also pay for permits or citations online.

Travel Option: The Bus

As a JMU student, you can ride the bus for free! 

Since finding an open parking space on campus can be challenging, riding a Harrisonburg transit bus to campus and/or while you are on campus may be an option worth exploring. The buses travel from one side of the campus to another and can save a student much time. The bus system is a unique form of transportation available to the city of Harrisonburg including JMU. There are routes to take you all over campus and Harrisonburg as well as to and from the apartment complexes. It is free to all students, faculty and staff. A bus schedule can be found at any bus stop, information sites or online. You can also go to the Harrisonburg Department of Transportation's homepage. The routes are listed there for your planning purposes.

If you live in Augusta County, another option may be to catch a shuttle from Blue Ridge Community College to JMU. The BRCC Shuttle offers free transportation for students from Rockingham and Augusta Counties, as well as the cities of Harrisonburg and Staunton, and offers connecting service to Waynesboro.
