Select breakfast at dining cafe (Rich pays; return to Shafer to eat)

Introductions and updating our group roster

9:30-12:00 Discussion:

• Establishing a comparative baseline for our units- the size, shape, and resources we have
• Recruitment and retention challenges and strategies for adult students- what does/doesn't work for us

12:00-1:00pm: Lunch (Rich pays; select from buffet choices in dining cafe; return to Shafer Room);

Informal sharing "what's new" in our work worlds

1:00-2:30 Discussion:

• How our departments(programs) fit within the larger college/university setting:
• Organizational placement (centralized or decentralized model);
• Involvement in governance/policy-making;
• Perceived connection to institutional mission and goals
• Working effectively with our institutional colleagues

2:30-2:45 Wrap up: next meeting date and location and the best way to stay in touch in between
