Do you have management courses in your program plan?
If you've ever been frustrated by trying to register for management courses, you are not alone! Over the past several weeks, the Adult Degree Program has worked closely with Dr. Paula Daly, Management department director, and Joyce Guthrie, Associate Dean for Student Services, to develop a policy that will make it easier for ADP students to register for management courses. This policy is now in effect and affects ALL ADP students, even those who have only one management course in their program plan. For full details, see Registering for Management Courses.
Mark your calendars
The Adult Degree Program has a busy spring, with several special events planned.
The Spring Senior Project Forum takes place on Friday, April 25, beginning at 6:30 pm with a reception followed by student presentations starting at 7 pm. Sixteen students will discuss the work the did for their capstone projects as ADP students.
The first-ever ADP Open House will take place on Wednesday, May 21 from 4 to 7 pm at Clementine's in downtown Harrisonburg. Representatives from various JMU departments, including the Registrar's Office, Admissions, Carrier Library, Computing Services, and Financial Aid will be available to answer questions. ADP and Outreach Program staff will be on hand to talk about the Adult Degree Program. While the Open House is aimed at getting information out about the program to prospective students, we'd love to see our current students and alums. Please stop by to catch and see what's new and on the horizon for ADP. If' you'd like to help out, please call the ADP office at 568-6824. We could use help with set-up, greeting those coming to the Open House, and answering questions about what it's like to come back to school as an adult.
Senior Project Workshop now online
Students must complete the Senior Project Workshop, which is now online, 24-hours a day, seven days a week! You can find it on Blackboard, under the ISM Student to Student Chat Group. "Senior Project Workshop" is the last link on the left-hand navigation bar. You can download and read the Senior Project Handbook, then take the short quiz. Once you've done that, you can complete the Course Agreement Form, and get started on your Senior Project.
For students registering for IS 498 the summer 2008 10-week session, Course Agreement Forms must be turned into the Adult Degree Program office no later than 12 noon on Monday, May 12, 2008. The deadline to submit the forms for the Fall 2008 semester is 12 noon, Monday, August 25, 2008.
