Graduation Ceremony

You are strongly encouraged to participate in the graduation ceremony by walking to accept your diploma. Not only will you bring excitement to yourself and to your family because of your accomplishment, you will benefit our efforts with our program by making a public showing of your success.

James Madison University has a web site on graduation giving you details for the ceremony. Go to the commencement website and read what is there. You will walk with the College of Education. See the College of Education'sgraduation page for more information.

You will need to order your graduation apparel from the campus bookstore. Go to the JMU Book Store website for directions. All "Individualized Study" majors will need to get a silver tassel regardless of what degree (Bachelor of Science, a Bachelor of Arts, or a Bachelor of Individualized Study) you are receiving. Silver is the color of our major. Just ask the bookstore people for silver.
