We are happy to announce that additional funding has been made available to address salary compression and equity issues for A&P Faculty positions.

 A&P Faculty Compression Adjustments

Effective November 25, 2015 Administrative and Professional Faculty members will receive a salary compression adjustment based on their years of JMU and state service. The pay adjustment will be reflected in the December 16, 2015 pay advice. Please refer to the details below and the FAQs on the HR website.

 November 25, 2015 Salary Compression Adjustment

  • Eligible A&P faculty with 10 to 20 years of continuous service will receive $50 per full year of service added to base pay.
  • Eligible A&P faculty with 21 to a maximum of 30 years of continuous service will receive $95 per full year of service added to base pay.

 Eligibility

 To be eligible for the compression increase, you must have:

  1. Completed at least 10 full years of continuous full-time service at JMU as of July 1, 2015 (those with JMU full-time hire dates of July 1, 2005 or before).
  2. Remained employed as a full-time A&P faculty member on November 25, 2015 and
  3. An acceptable performance rating on the most recent A&P Faculty performance evaluation.

Employees with less than 10 years of continuous full-time JMU service are not eligible.

Previous state service years will be included in the total years of service for those with at least 10 complete years of continuous full-time service at JMU and those who have no break in service while transitioning to JMU.

A&P Faculty Salary Adjustment Process

We are also pleased to announce that targeted salary adjustments will be administered through an “A&P Faculty Salary Adjustment Process” during this fiscal year. The process will be managed by the Vice Presidents working in concert with Human Resources and communicated to the recipient when approved. Under this process, adjustments to base salary may include pay practices such as promotion, changes in duties, retention, and equity-based adjustments. More information regarding the process will be available in the near future.
